Challenge 1: Book Covers

Welcome to our first challenge! To kick off the community, let's focus on where everything started - with the fantastic book trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

For this challenge, we'll icon the various book covers. You may use any image of a Hunger Games book cover in your icon. I have included some high-res thumbnails under the cut you may wish to use, or you can find some great international covers to icon here at Quarter Quell.

Feel free to add any text or blend in other images. Just make sure it's clear that part of a cover has been utilized for your icon to qualify. Questions? Feel free to message the mod or leave a comment.


RULES:
- You may enter up to 4 (four) icons for this challenge.
- Only members may enter.
- The same image may be used more than once provided the crop is significantly different.
- Use images of any Hunger Games book cover, but you may minimally blend in other images and text.

- Animation, textures, blending, brushes, text, any images are allowed.
- All icons must be original to THIS challenge.

Special Challenge: Community Icons and Banners

To get the community started, I'm going to run a special challenge concurrently with the first challenge, which closes April 1.

I'd love to have a stash of great community icons and profile/header banners to rotate through. Icons must be basic LJ standard sizes, and banners can range from 400x200 pixels (like the sidebar banner) up to 1000x400 (longer than the profile banner).

You may use any image or text, but you MUST include the community name, hunger_icontest somewhere on each item! That's really the only firm rule, since these are to be used by the community, after all.

Check out the links sidebar for lots of great websites with images. I particularly recommend the Gallicka gallery of the HD trailers. If you need help or have questions, always feel free to message the mod or leave a comment!

This challenge will run for an extended period, since banners are involved, otherwise, it will run just like any other challenge.
